Reformer

Reformer 1: an introductory pilates class of the Stott equipment and terminology used in exercises. Whether you are new (or returning) to your pilates practice, this is a great review of pilates principles and fundamentals.

Props 1: is an introductory pilates class of the Stott equipment and terminology used in exercises. Whether you are new (or returning) to your pilates practice, this is a great review of pilates principles and fundamentals incorporating the use of props.

Reformer 2: is recommended for those with a minimum of 4 - 10 Reformer 1 classes. This is a beginner to intermediate progressive class working towards the full level 2 repertoire. Typically 6-12 months of this class is required before joining Reformer 3.

Props 2 is a beginner to intermediate class merging reformer exercises with props. Props such as circles, balls, arc barrels, stability cushions, Bosu balls, and more will be used.

Balanced Strength is a NEW class that is a Maine Pilates exclusive. Each class builds upon the previous to help you strengthen muscles (large and small) that keep you balanced and stable. The added benefit is better posture! We'll be using the Pilates Reformer and various props to challenge the body in all planes of movement. Many exercises will be done standing that you can do at home. If you've been diagnosed with Osteopenia or Osteoporosis this is a great class for you as it's important to improve your balance to prevent falls. Feeling unstable walking, getting out of the chair, or just not confident in how your body moves lately? Come join us!

Reformer 3: ready for more challenges? Our instructors will lead you through a dynamic, full-body workout that focuses on improving flexibility and core strength while building upon the foundation you've developed at Reformer 1 and 2.

Props 3: In this class we will use the jump board, circles, balls, cushions and other props while building on the movements learned in Reformer 2 and 3. Reformer 3 experience is necessary or instructor approval.

Chair

Chair 2: is the best of the best! We combine the best of the mat exercises with the best of the reformer and the best of the stability chair. No chair experience is necessary, however reformer experience at level 1 is needed. If you like variety, this is it!

Chair 3: we continue to build upon the strength and stability gained from levels 1 and 2 adding challenge and variety.
